Ensemble Spektrum plays Minus One for clarinet and cello in their "Mosaik" concerts alongside works by Lehmann, Villa-Lobos and Cage. Concerts take place Oct 22, 29 and Nov 5. Rex Martin, world-famous tuba player from Chicago plays Sonata for tuba and piano at the Ticino Musica festival on July 21st at 9pm in the Aula Magna del Conservatorio, Lugano (link: Ticino Musica). A repeat performance will take place at Texas Tech University on Nov 5th in a free recital. Plasticity, Cyrill's latest work for chamber ensemble, was performed in February 2010 by AURA, the contemporary music ensemble at the University of Houston Moores School of Music. It was commissioned by the AURA and its director, Rob Smith. Cyrill also played a piano recital, featuring the premiere of two of his piano etudes, along with his Suite for Piano and music by Shostakovich and Scriabin. "Hors-d'ouvre" for tuba and piano has been recorded by tubist David LeClair for his new CD of works for tuba. It is available through Musique Suisses.
